At the “Caribeños de Akumal” Tourist Cooperative, which has been made up of inhabitants of the town of Akumal for more than 25 years, we recognize the enormous importance of the protection and sustainable development of the coastal marine ecosystem of the bays of Akumal, for our current and future generations. For this reason, our tourist activity is always carried out in a friendly way with this beautiful ecosystem, with which we have the privilege of living. Our offer includes boat rides along the coast, snorkeling with turtles, both within the bay of Akumal, as well as in the rest of the reef areas and local cenotes, with great biological and cultural wealth. Likewise, we practice responsible sport fishing, with strict adherence to the legal guidelines for the selection and protection of marine resources, offering the preparation and tasting of the catch in our emblematic local restaurant, “La Cueva del Pescador”, recognized nationally and internationally for the varied offer based on the gastronomy of the coastal area.
